Alone

Written for a creative writing class

you left me alone

stood me up

         watching          

                   wondering

                             waiting

for a reason that would never come



i stood staring up

at the stars

         waiting

                   watching

                             wondering

if the future really is written there



i sat on the street

staring blankly

         wondering

                   waiting

                             watching

many people pass without a glance

in every face I see what i've lost
