Dark Scribe
Tears roll silently by.
Torrents slow and start to dry.
A bitter taste, the essence of sorrow.
Will there be a new tomorrow?
Depression fills me with despair.
The mind has gone beyond repair.
Just existing is not real living.
Life can be so unforgiving.
A mistake, a wrong, or really bad luck,
I’m beginning to think I don’t give a fuck.
I give up, give in, my notice I tender.
I’ve had enough – I completely surrender.
You wouldn’t believe how dark thoughts can be.
You couldn’t imagine how bad mine are for me.
Reality is a mistress of fate.
Someone save me before it’s too late!
There is but one glimmer of hope.
Something special that helps me to cope.
I gather my thoughts as I sit in my den,
Then put them on paper; my Saviour – my pen.
Freestyle poetry. Each stanza is a quatrain and I follow an AABB rhyme scheme.
