Broken heart poem....

Unconscious of my steps, I walked blindly through life
My heart wide open, my eyes blind folded and no energy to fight
I never saw it coming nor did I hear the horn blow
I felt the vibration beneath my feet, but the cause of it I didn’t know
The forceful impact shattered me, pieces of me everywhere
But you didn’t slow down even a little, showed that you never really cared
I was never a Stop for you, scheduled or impromptu
Was I a nameless face in a busy crowd, did you even see me in your side view
It is of no consequence I guess, you are now long gone
Many miles are between us as I face the light of the dawn
My eyes are wide open, my heart is locked and reality threw away the key
I have a map that tells me where to go, no treks off the beaten path for me
Just in case I get weak, I use my scars as my guide
I don’t go anywhere near the train tracks, lest I get hit broadside
But every now and then I feel vibrations beneath my feet
My heart begins to tremble in hopes that you will see me
But you never do and at times I wish you did...to see I’m doing fine
Though shattered, broken, battered and torn, I will get better with time
