Forever and a Day

A poem for the one person that I have always loved.

In my dreams I see your face
and then my heart begins to race
In the night I hear your voice
and wish you would just make a choice
There are no words for how I feel
but believe me this love is real
In everything, everywhere
you are always there
Deep emotions within my heart
way too long we've been apart
If I could have just one wish today
it would be for you to always stay

By my side is where you should be
together forever you and me
Yes we were young and dumb
but these feelings for you will never numb
My heart cries out for you
and I know you still have feelings too
Life is short and never fair
but you can count on me to be there

Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow
and that is for my heart to sorrow
Someday you will see
you belong with me
So, until that wonderful day
there is just one thing to say
You were my first love
and no one has been above
You gave me everything I needed
but still your heart heeded
