Inspired by a true story of a mother that almost succeeded in killing her own daughter.

I awoke broken hearted,
it was this earth I almost parted;

When I realized who it was,
everything else became a fuzz;

My mother, whom I cherished,
was the reason I almost parished;

A betrayal, through the heart,
by the one who gave me my start;

I guess it could be worse,
it could have been me in a hearse;

Now I see, just how evil can be,
I didn't expect it to happen to me;

I loved my mother but I'm afraid,
my love for her has started to fade;

That's okay, I'll be just fine,
I'm looking straight ahead, not behind;
