Taken By the Water

         Doubt sprouted through me as I came upon the riverside. The water roared boastfully, but I refused to cower in the presence of this killer; the one who had claimed my sister’s life.
         I took in a sharp breath then leaped, cherishing my last moments as airborne before crashing.

         Soon, I would join her.
