Dear Me,

What a beginning it's been 2013! Family dramas, wild storms, flooding that has left the State in tatters. While I like the idea of an action packed year; I was thinking something a little less devastating... My goal for 2013 is to take over the Universe.

But first the formalities (it's in the Rule Book):

         Step One: Decide what Universe you are taking over

         Step Two: Give them a chance to defend themselves

We are off to a flying start Seriously; with all the stops and starts and stops we've had this year it's amazing that I've gotten started at all. Sure, I've taken a couple of detours and breaks, the most important thing is: I have started. In fact, Phase One of my plot to take over the Universe has just entered it's third week "Unfair!" you say? I've been working offline due to the flood cutting the lines, no drastic moves have been made thus far... besides, I've been talking about taking over the Universe since 2009

As the creation date of the project folder clearly states

if you haven't taken me seriously by now, it's your own fault.

I have developed a simple, easy to use Three Step Plan to help achieve this goal. Not going to give it all away; I will be making myself accountable at my Project Headquarters: "Operation Global Domination" . Applications for Evil Henchmen opens February 10; kind of excited to have some minions of my own

The world is not enough! Besides total World Domination

Universal Domination just doesn't roll off the tongue as nicely

, my hopes and dreams for 2013 are quite normal. Starting February 1, 2013 I will:

write 4 new pieces each month (be it article, story or prose)
get more involved in the Writing.com community
work my way up to 1-2 reviews a day (starting with 2-3 per week)
get qualified

Necessary for plans after "Operation Global Domination"  is completed

- 4 courses over the next 11 months (easy!)
achieve and maintain my goal weight of 65kgs (by my holiday mid-year)
launch my website by March 2013 (or is that relaunch? I'm updating/remodelling it)

To anyone else reading this, it may seem like a lot of trouble to go through (or even, dare I say it, selfish of me) to focus on myself and my goals this year; but I've spent the last few years putting my own dreams on the back-burner, putting others ahead of myself. I have received nothing but grief from those efforts. Enough is enough! It's time to give something back to myself, 2013 will see me focusing on my own dreams for the future, no matter how crazy they may sound to the 'outside' world.

I've been tossing around the idea behind "Operation Global Domination" for a couple of years now and I've finally got it figured out. It really is an awesome plan. I'm not crazy. 'Taking over the Universe' is just a fun way to build up some hype around the project and meet some new people in the process (one cannot have too many evil henchmen friends).
