Southern Culture Shock: A Yankee's View

A Northerner's view on Southern cultural differences.

A New Jersey native, having lived there for 50 years, decided to move to North Carolina to live closer to her family. She considered the move as a new chapter in her life, an exciting new adventure. Her expectations were that life would be a little slower and quieter living at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains but not so different than life in small town New Jersey. Once she was settled in a rural town in North Carolina she discovered just how wrong she had been.
