why do we read ? what are the reason ? my explainations :)

REASONS TO READ



Why do I read?

Soaking myself with the dust of time          

Only to own the lies forged around me

With an infant gaze at that handheld porthole

Only to be aloof from the outside agony



Why do I read?

Like an animal of habit, that feeds upon

Every piece of paper that comes within my grasp

I have to keep on dumping them, to keep that fire alive

Many a time betraying reason, to focus more on the task



I read, I think because,

Beyond those lies, between those lines

Left are many truths, for me to find

To bookmark myself to those better days

of innocent unadulterated sanity.



I read, I think because,

As the fire purges away those morbid scripts,

To leave behind an aroma, just a whiff

and a pile of ashes along with it

born from which is a bird of fire

and its eyes, filled with desire



I Read, I Think

Not because I just love to, but I definitely have to.
