| Persephone Returned I don’t have a green thumb, But today I could plant a forest. I could put the seeds to bed, Give them a bedtime snack of water and sunlight, And in minutes they would be flying little green flags. Today, with a nifty little lullaby, I could lull them into a time lapsed reality. I could watch as limbs lengthen, Sprout bouquets from buds no bigger than gumballs, And bend under the weight of ripening fruit. With the help of fat buzzing pollinators, My small garden could spread and reproduce, Feet stretching to acres, acres turning to miles. Instead of a square of scorched grass, By midnight, I could have My own Personal Amazon. Regan Tindell |
