It's about being with someone and they are so use to you that they don't see you anymore

Can you see me?
Can you hear me?
When I call your name
Or am I just a shadow
Passing in the night?

Can you feel my touch?
Or catch a whiff of my scent?
When I call your name
Or am I just a shadow
Passing in the night?

I can see you!
I can hear you!
When I call your name
I’m not just a shadow
Passing in the night

I can feel your touch
And smell your scent
When I call your name
I’m standing next to you
Can’t you see me?
Or am I just a shadow
Passing in the night?
