My Dad taught me to face it all by being cowboy wise. (A CW Lover's Entry) |
| Cowboy Wise I miss my Dad; his gentle words were lessons in disguise. Common sense wrapped in a smile. He called it “cowboy wise”. Now that I’m grown and on my own his words still ring so true. It’s like he’d seen it all before; like there was nothing new. (Refrain) No matter what went on in life it came as no surprise. Daddy always had a quip for he was cowboy wise. No matter what the day would bring he was never at a loss. “You never drink when you’re downstream from where the cattle cross.” When times were hard, I’d shake my head, and say “I can’t go on.” He’d smile and say, “When you’re in a hole, first stop your digging, son.” (Refrain) No matter what went on in life it came as no surprise. Daddy always had a quip for he was cowboy wise. I’ve finally come to realize the wisdom in his tales. His gentle humored words still bring a smile, that never fails. No matter what goes on in life it comes as no surprise. My Dad taught me to face it all by being cowboy wise. An entry for "Invalid Item" |
