A tale of togetherness.

Hand in hand we walk together
Footsteps laid in tar and feather
Smiles betray unspoken frowns
Hidden fights are out of bounds
A path begun with cooing shyness
Led to our progressive blindness
Hope has guided, from adolescence,
Our journey towards quintessence
Laughs and tears we shed as one
Hazed over by a constricting sun.
With our wearied hearts we come
Still holding fast, hands long since numb
Soft and subtle - quiet, yet sure
upon this tarnished rubble, we endure.
