A poem for the night |
| Your guiding light shines down on silent lands A flashlight held in heavens' hands Paled only by the vastness of your Canvass One can view your backdrop in the world's atlas But the Gods made sure you are not alone You have many helpers surrounding your throne. Fireflies winking at the places below They are more brilliant than a blanket of snow. The passersby along the city streets know very little of your continuous feats. You hail the night and guide our dreams Respect must be given to that which controls the seas. And so your cycle continues, dependable, endless. When darkness descends, you have not left us defenseless. Instead you guide us with your steady beams And lead your children to peaceful dreams. You are the keeper of the night. You are the peoples guiding light. |
