Stuck-in-the-rut thinking precludes improvement.

To embrace what is as must it be though better be on hand,
To feed one’s ego full of pride, and on the past to stand,
To outlaw excellence and grin at dearth of wondrous grandness
Seems to me to be no more than pure and utter madness.
