| Exploring footpaths in the night, Unearthly shadows by moonlight, Neurotic mental states give fright, Fanciful notions flare. Peculiar every little sound, A noise above has me spellbound, Ascending and descending round, A bat flies in the air. Tenaciously I'd watched the sky, But never once a bat to spy, Now gleefully I watch one fly, Caught up in moonlight's glare. Descriptions spoken, stories heard, I couldn't say a single word, Because a bat flies like a bird, As if it had no care. They say there's nothing new to see, Angelic visions disagree, That bat astounds and dazzles me, Creation's millionaire. 20 Lines
