A poem about depression

Cut up the trees and the flowers, make the smiles disappear,
Today I don’t feel like smiling, today I don’t feel you near.

The cold wind is whipping at me, I’ll make the faces fade,
Today I don’t feel jolly, so I’ll stop this masquerade.

Erase those happy times, force the sun to burn into night,
Leave me to my own devices, stop the birds in flight.

I'm depressed, don’t cheer me up, leave me alone,
I’m sitting by myself, I’m turning off my phone,
I’ll snap at you, if you try to make me cheery,
Leave me alone, today I want to feel dreary.

I’ll laugh another day, I’ll fake a joyful smile,
I’ll joke in a happy way, I’ll try a new hair style.
I’ll go out to party, I’ll have lots of fun,
I’ll down my drinks, I’ll bask in the sun.

But not today, today I want to be alone and depressed,
Today, I want to bathe in eternal rest.
