Written for Feli on her Birthday

Oh, felili, tell me true,
you hang out with a monkey friend,
nobody quite like you.
He thinks your smile is heaven-sent,
i ask, "Is that for real?"
You got the sparkle, you got the feel.

We were just roaming through the town,
you stopped and spun around one day.
You thought I was from up or down,
i thought you came from far away.
It felt so funny, felt so free,
when you just laughed and turned to me.
I said, "My name is Monkey," crude,
you just smiled and changed the mood.

You're charting stars across the floor,
while I just stood and leaned against the wall.
You know the math, you know the core,
and I know nothing much at all.
You try to teach me, clear and proud,
you shout the answers to the crowd.
Oh, felili, what's a monkey meant to do?
Just stand right here and look at you.
