The crushing feeling;
music once loved
sends the soul reeling
so long it’s been shoved
away.

How long has it been
since the fog hid
the sunshine within.
All the joy has slid
away.

Suddenly it dawns;
my loves were caged.
Taken by time's pawns;
all I held dear waged
away.

What now for the new?
A need for more.
Time to rendezvous
with things I adore
today.
