Forty lines to surely whet one's appetite

Gilmore’s Road-Kill Meat Market

Has the freshest stock in town.

High-quality; low-prices.

Folks gather from miles around.

Buck-toothed gophers and long-tailed rats.
Possums and stinky skunks too.

Cute little squirrels with bushy tails.

Rabbits for a Sunday stew.

Service is great at Gilmore’s.

He’ll skin and gut what you buy.

With a smile, he aims to please.
Gilmore is a first-class guy.

Chickens and ducks and crows plucked nude.
Lizards are sold by the pound.

Cats who’ve lived all nine of their lives.

Hey, look, there’s Elmer’s’ old hound.

Vast the gourmet selection.

Each carcass on ice is laid.

Nothing but the very best

Await the buying parade.

Raccoons wearing black bandit masks.
Porcupines lay stiff and still.

Each will soon be cooked and eaten:

Tender and tasty road-kill.

Gilmore’s Road-Kill Meat Market

Is just off Highhopper Road.

Drop my name and you’ll receive

A free toad pie a-la-mode.

Buck-toothed gophers and long-tailed rats.
Possums and stinky skunks too.

Cute little squirrels with bushy tails.

Rabbits for a Sunday stew.

Chickens and ducks and crows plucked nude.
Lizards are sold by the pound.

Cats who’ve lived all nine of their lives.

Hey, look, there’s Elmer’s’ old hound.
Raccoons wearing black bandit masks,

Porcupines lay stiff and still.

Each will soon be cooked and eaten:

Tender and tasty road-kill.
