Who Owns The Planet BY APONDIA July Prompt: Will God fly with us to the stars? Is God and faith confined to one planet alone? Were we designed to live solely on earth alone? How might theology change if we became a multi-planetary species? What kind of motive should drive us to explore beyond and what reasons might hold us back? These are questions that have been given thought by other Christians. The Book of Strange New Things written by Michael Faber, deals with the theory that humans are intended to take the gospel to other beings on other planets .It is a fiction story about an attempt to spread the gospel on another planet. It has specific ideas and makes its’ case in an attempt to bring sightful reality to a thoughtful subject. What we know is that the earth was created by God. Therefore, God is not confined to only one planet unless he is not involved in creating other planets. Genesis says he rested it does not say he quit working. I’m influenced by the fact, when humans conquered trips to the moon, they began to send rockets into the suns burning aura, putting robotics on Mars, putting telescopes into space to watch for life, recording sounds which hit earth from outer space, basically collecting scientific data for lots of different ideas about space travel. When all this happened, the universe of space began to expand at an unprecedented pace. Does it mean God decided to create more planets for mankind to explore? Why would theology change? The word theology is the study of God and religious belief. If God returns to the earth as King and rules from Jerusalem how will that change the whole situation. Then, will God send out emissaries to reach out to developing species on other planets. Since man actually was already on this planet before Adam and Eve were created doesn’t that leave room for evolution of life on other planets? Does evolution show us a specific way for life to evolve? It seems as if science evolves at a pace consistent with humans understanding of the problems people face as they live on the earth. No matter what country they live in or work in. Our desire to find and solve the basic problems societies face on the earth is along side of the movement to reach out across space to other inhabitable worlds. What kind of motive should drive us to explore beyond and what reasons might hold us back? I don't think we need to delve into motives for human experience. Humans are basically curious beings. We always ask questions like who, what, why, when, and where. We have an internal directive to find answers to our problems. Every explorer and scientist can explain that need. Reasons that hold us back are easy. The unknown is a reason not to tickle fate. Why are we without the technology to travel across the light years of outer space? What holds back a human ability to attain space travel? God made the universe; God names the stars. It all belongs to the Creator. Job 9:8-9, Genesis 1:1, Isaiah 40:26, John 1:3. Our ability to deal with what comes next in a way that follows the laws of the earth and universe are holding back our progress. Don't leave out timing. Notice, humans did not tackle a vaccine for covid until the real danger to the population hit. Notice we, (humans), are trying to achieve technology that will stop killing and war. Learn the laws. Follow the laws. It is necessary for progress. THE END WORD COUNT BY WDC=600 |
