Jared Smiled Ring ring… “Where were you last night?” “Where was I supposed to be?” “Don’t give me that crap! You said you’d be there by six. I waited outside for half an hour before I went in. I missed the best part!” “The best part? There was no best parts to be the best part. Besides I never said I was going to go, let alone by six!” “Don’t give me that drivel!” “Drivel? That’s not what you called it before! And I never heard you mention six o’clock. We eat at six o’clock here. Why in heck would I plan to be somewhere else at six? “You know why, we had to get there before Andy!” “Who the heck has to get anywhere before Andy? Andy is an idiot!” “That doesn’t mean he couldn’t get the spot!” “The spot! Why would Andy want a spot?” “For the same reason we wanted the spot!” “I don’t remember wanting a spot…” “You know I meant me wanting the spot. You said you’d help me! Now I’ll never get in!” “I said I’d help you do what?” “Get the spot…” “The spot of what?” “If you think talking confusing is going to change how mad I am you’re fooling yourself!” “I’m not trying to be confusing. I am confused… what spot are we talking about?” “Are you insane? The spot that opened up on the team when Ralph moved.” “Ralph? Ralph who?” “Ralph Windslow of course? What did you have for dinner? I think your brain is turning to mush!” “I don’t know anybody named Ralph Windslow…” “Come on Jared! This isn’t funny!” “Who is Jared?” “You, of course!” “My name is Andy… who’s this?” “Ah… I think I maybe got the wrong number… Sorry! Bye!” Click And then, Jared smiled. |
