An story about a rain that happened in a sunny day, a fly with no wings, and a stop. |
"Thud." The sound of rain falling. [The weather was sunny that day.] ------ I saw the hunched giant flying downward. [Flying?] ------ I saw nothing and everything in his eyes. [...] ------ "Whoosh." The sound of exhalation. [The sound of blowing out smoke.] ------ "Scratch." The sound of a match being struck. [The sound of lighting a cigarette.] ------ "Step." The sound of standing at the edge of the castle's rooftop. [...] ------ "Step, step, step... step, step, step..." That is the sound of pursuit. Footsteps--mine, or the giant's. [Climbing up to the rooftop.] ------ The giant no longer spoke with thunderclouds in his throat. He turned and ran. My voice still echoed in the air. [The argument was over.] ------ The giant roared back at me. I raised the photo of the princess. I've forgotten what I said. [...] ------ I screamed hysterically at the giant. [The argument began.] ------ I pushed open the gate of the castle of the giant. I saw him ignite a dreadful torch, setting fire to the demon's thin white body and devouring its soul. [It wasn't the first time.] ------ [Do you still remember what happened?] Yes, doctor. The giant is dead. [...] [Please, let me tell.] ------ [You went home.] [You saw him light up the drugs.] ------ [You told him to stop.] ------ [He told you to disappear.] [You took out the photo of your mother, alive.] [You said something.] ------ [He broke down.] ------ [You both climbed to the rooftop.] ------ [He stood on the edge.] ------ [He took another cigarette from his pocket.] ------ [He took one last drag.] ------ [He looked at you.] ------ [And then he fell.] ------ "Thud." [That was the final sound made by the father who once stood tall like a giant.] |
