Life Drifting Away

Short Poem

Your beauty and light
Stayed with me this night
As the candlelight flickered and swayed
Your eyes held mine
And our breath kept time
As my life slowly drifted away
The warmth of your hand
kept me tethered to this land
But alas, it is time for me to go
Weep not for me
As soon we will be
Together as one once more
Scatter my ashes to the wind
Hear my laughter within
And watch our love as it soars.
