A Kitty's Rescue

The frantic mews were barely heard,
drowned ‘neath song of a singing bird.

Only avian breath, a moment's pause,
revealed the scrabble of tiny paws.

Sun-soaked eyes search the roofline,
there to spot a half-pint feline.

A ladder leaned against the wall.
An answer to a kitty's call.
