Essay #1 in the "So What?" series

The United States government, under the direction of the Trump Administration in 2026, captured Nicolás Maduro of Venezuela.
So What?

This is an exploration of nation-states in the 21st century and their actions that reach beyond singular kinetic forces converging in an active zone, singular economic sanctions, and singular geopolitical windfalls.

This is an exploration of nation-states, particularly those of the United States, China, Russia, Venezuela, Brazil, and Mexico, in the 21st century, and their actions that reach beyond kinetic forces converging in a singular zone, singular economic sanctions, and singular geopolitical windfalls.

From the perspective of a Western ethos nation-state, this capture is agreeable, positive, beneficial, and morally good based on the foundations of influence (psychologically and traditionally), military strategy, economic gain, geopolitical gain, alliance building, and structural changes.

Maduro's capture creates leverage for the United States and its allies while simultaneously positioning its foes and enemies further to the margins. I will highlight the
core and central positions achieved while delving loosely into the margins as they relate to oppositional forces that seek to undermine the status of the United States of America.
