Epstein's Ghost finally silenced for good

Epstein's Ghosts Silenced for Good

450 words

Sam Adams worked for the Cosmos Foundation in Berkeley, California—a group that fancied itself the real-life version of The X-Files. As a paranormal researcher for the Cosmos Institute, Sam often relied on his most enigmatic source: Sandra Lee, the owner of an occult bookstore tucked away in Berkeley’s shadows.

Sandra was no ordinary informant. She claimed to have communed with spirits during her frequent séances. But this time, her revelation was chilling:

“Sam,” she whispered, “I’ve seen Jeff Epstein’s ghost.”

Sandra had a past she rarely spoke of. Raised in poverty, orphaned by violence, and shuffled through foster homes, she eventually ran away. In her desperate youth, she crossed paths with Epstein and became one of his girls. When she turned eighteen, he cast her aside—but not before paying her a million dollars to disappear and forget. Sandra used the money to travel the world, immerse herself in the occult, and finally settle in Berkeley, where she opened her bookstore and became a trusted source for Sam.

Now, Epstein’s ghost had returned—haunting her dreams. With the recent release of the Epstein files and mounting speculation about his death, Sandra claimed the spirit wanted to confess.

“He told me who killed him,” she said. “He wants me to reveal the truth.”

Sam leaned forward.

“Can you summon him in a séance? Maybe even bring in the survivors’ group?”

Sandra nodded slowly.

“I have the Necronomicon. I can summon the dead. And with your help, we can arrange a secret Zoom call.”

The plan was set. Sandra gathered the survivors of Epstein’s crimes. When the séance began, Jeff’s ghost appeared on the screen, spectral and remorseful.

“I want to make amends,” he said. “Help me expose those who killed me.”

Sandra demanded names. Epstein complied:

“The hit was approved at the highest levels. They hired an ex-con named Joe Lewis as a prison guard. He killed me—and then they killed him. They’re erasing every trace of the truth. I’m a victim as much as a villain.”

When the call ended, Sandra turned to the group.

“It’s up to you now.”

But the survivors voted against helping him. They wanted no part in freeing Epstein’s ghost from his torment.

“Let him rot,” Sandra muttered.

Later, Maria pulled Sam aside.

“The fix is in. Epstein’s ghost will stay silent. The truth won’t set him free.”

Sam went home, wrote everything down, and posted it anonymously. The story went viral—briefly—before powerful forces buried it. And so, Jeff Epstein’s ghost vanished back into the hell where he belonged.

Fun Fact: On January 23, 1897, Elva Zona Heaster was found dead in Greenbrier County, West Virginia. Zona’s mother told authorities that her daughter came to her in a dream saying her new husband had murdered her. Her statement prompted the local sheriff to exhume the body. The resulting murder trial of her husband was perhaps only case in US history where the alleged testimony of a ghost helped secure a conviction.

Write a story or poem in which a ghost reveals the identity of their murderer, a well-respected person, but they must first make someone listen to and believe their story. Make Supernatural one of your genres.
