Grandson was surprised I didn't learn Florida history. Jesus' disciple misunderstood, too.

INACCURATE PERCEPTIONS

When my grandson was in the fourth grade, he studied Florida history. The Seminole Indians, St. Augustine, Gasparilla. Both of his parents, and his grandma had studied Florida history when they were in the fourth grade. So it came as quite a shock to him when he learned that I had not studied Florida history. Growing up in Indiana, I had learned Indiana history.

He had inaccurate assumptions.

When Jesus explained to his disciples that the Son of Man would have to die and be raised from the dead, Peter rebuked him. Said it could never happen. Jesus replied, “Get thee behind me, Satan ... You do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns (Matthew 16:23)

Inaccurate perceptions. Incorrect assumptions. What are yours?
