Alone in the House at Night

A poem. Written when I was, alas, alone in the house at night.

Shadows from the night-light,
A giant on the wall.
The pressing of my footprints
On the carpet of the hall.
A glow upon the mirror,
Lights inside my eyes,
And a windowpane of raindrops,
Foggy from my sighs.
