Whispers
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The whispers are behind me
I hear them clearly.
They drag me down
and make me self-conscious.

Are the people talking about me?
If so why?
Do I have food on my face?
What is it?

I wish I knew.
I want them to stop.
I hate the the hushed conversations
it is nerve-wracking.

Stop, stop
Whatever you can say behind me
you can say in front of me.
I will hear your gossip soon enough.
