The Day

Can't describe this. There are no words.

You held my hand,
we stole a forbidden kiss,
it was passionate, romantic,
and ever so right.

I put all bad thoughts
to the back of my mind,
and prayed in my head
that we would always last.

We walked along, fingers entwined,
stopping just to take a look in your sparkling blue eyes.
We drove to beautiful sites,
and took a picturesque stroll through the calm neighbouring fields.

My heart beat strongly,
all through the day,
when it was time to part,
I shed a tear- you wiped it away.

Yet we both know
it cannot be,
you are with someone else,
not me.
