Words that paint a path ahead,
Steps that break and lay uneven,
Grasping for a solid hold
Reaching for elusive reasons.

What can I say to hold your heart?
What can I do to erase your doubt?
What can I pledge to keep your love?
What can I share to keep fear out?

Hold me tight, without response
Kiss me softly, gently lingering
Feel my warmth, love is present
