Alone... I was alone and I was sinking... But how, I wondered, had I let myself fall into his trap?

The decoy of a couch had looked so comfortable. I had collapsed into the life-sized marshmallow form thinking I would only be a moment -- then, as I reclined, it had swallowed me whole.

He was a clever one, that giant... Popping me into his mouth like a candy cocoon, he'd resisted the urge to chew.

Oh, how I wish he'd crushed my head instead. Despite my travails, despite my efforts, I'm still sitting down here, stuck...
