When the Animals Run

Animals sensing natural disasters.

When the animals run,
paws pell mell,
tongues aloll,
I will too.
They know, I see,
more than you and me.
They scent the terror of the wall of water,
they sense Nature's fist poised to strike.

Man could learn
from animal terror.

When the voice
devoid of language
whispers foreboding
in my soul...

I will run
with the animals
to hide with them
and their honest fear.
