Resting long in tattered folders,
Enslaved in faded pages,
Fettered fancies of a fertile mind-
Even a housewife,
Restrained by sticky hands and
Relentless toddlers clinging close,
Envisions words in print,
Designation of worth.

Acclaimed now by those afar
Unbinding writer's craft,
Treated as a worthy peer;
Honored for beloved
Obsession widely shared;
Respected for being myself.
