This is a poem from childhood about the fall of mankind and its imploding nature |
With your smoking ruins and toxic waste, With your harmful actions from a wasteful race, With a press of a button, the worlds doom is sealed And weâll be saved by a âhuman geneticsâ shield. âThe worlds our ownâ, but âin God we trustâ Yet you canât even control your selfish lust. A despotic regime, where a million Hitlerâs found, And your evil acts make a world to which weâre bound. From our founding fathers to our mothers wombs A quest for knowledge, and a path to our tombs. A stewards choice, from which we try to hide, And one that old governments tried to push aside. A âworld of peaceâ in the eyes of a child, Is slowly perverted, so that itâs no longer so mild A world poisoned by technological powers, So a cancer spreads, and acid rain showers. With your global warming drowning us in hopelessness, Trying to stop a landslide into which we fall powerless. A decrepit landscape which you hand us children Forged from your arrogance, and unwillingness to listen. |
