My talk with God

In a place of standing....

In a place of standing
I finally search to see
all of my life I've looked
to be the best that I could be.
Having always been able to
hold my head higher than the rest
I find it difficult to stop and stand
to not always be the best.
I've not needed the humbling
or the gentle guiding Grace
I've not seen the lesson learned
nor leaned on God's strong Brace.
I've merely kept on going
suriving as I've always done
perhaps not always doing enough
for my place in Heaven to be won.
But I've done the best I could
that's all you can ask of me
and by God if that's not good enough
Then there is no Heaven for me.
