bobble-head dolls
walk parliament's halls
no owls in this bunch
after six beers for lunch
while down on the street
the less fortunate retreat
from threats to the lives they lead

the mammon eaters don't care
how much you get on welfare
and never rode the bus
so what's all the fuss
if its change you want
there's a good restaurant
where they don't mind you waiting out front

hairdos on the tube
usually a couple of boobs
their vacant stare
reading what ever's there
forget about truth
some guy in a booth
decides what comes out of your mouth


they've all sworn an oath
to economic growth
if it doesn't make money
keep it to yourself honey
they're here to stay
from now till doomsday
we stiffs just get in the way
