An assignment in English class that I thought turned out well enough to put on here.

Waiting tensely like a cobra ready to strike
Moving and gliding like a shadow unable to be caught
Feeling the tense strain of exhaustion like the sharp pain of a knife drawn
And yet dashing like a rabbit, moving, all energy
Reacting instantly like the sharp sound of a gun.
Yelling like you want to kill
Envisioning your attacker before you
Delivering each kick to the air like your aggressor really existed
You stop and stand, straight
Bow
