Some days I love me,
Others I hate myself.
I must try and keep
Bad memories on the shelf.

The past is over
No need to dwell.
I finally escaped
My self-imposed hell.

One day at a time,
Step by step.
Rushing is a crime,
Enjoy each moment.

Crying is okay,
Laughing is even better.
Remembering to pray,
Helps throughout each day.

Hold tight to true friends
And forget your enemy.
Someday you will make amends,
Trust in God and you will see.

It’s never too late
To try and change your ways.
You can always clear your plate
A humble heart pays.

Love with all you’ve got
And forgive with all your strength
Your days won’t rot
But will extend in length.
