Walk Together

Here we are,
Finally coming together,
But still learning
To put faith in each other.

You’ve been on your own
For indeed quite awhile,
But as far as faith goes,
You shouldn’t be in denial.

A troubled walk now
We’ve come to take,
I ask a lot of you
That I won’t fake.

But now we will
Take this walk together,
And through the storms
I’ll leave you never.

When it rains
It does pour,
And sometimes tears flow
Behind a closed door;
I’ve been warned
I may get in harm’s way -
But still I remain
Here night and day.

I have my umbrella ready
For the difficulties ahead,
We can cross together
Absent fear or dread.

I can’t promise sunshine
And conditions always fair,
But I can promise
I’ll always be there.
