Checking In

A little more explanation for my long absence from this site.

I laid my notebooks down
while I lived life for once
(for the first time)
the caretaker being cared for
I'll pick my pen back up
and just check in
to let you know I've made it
after waiting so long
(so sure all was lost each time I left)
and now we argue about who loves who more
with his hand on my waist
mine on his chest
a smile on my lips
