I've been on this site for a few years, and I have enjoyed interacting with other writers. But I am getting to the age where it is a little ridiculous to be an "aspiring writer". I'm 57. Most of the great writers were dead long before I ever had anything published. In the great novella by Fyodor Dostoyevsky "Notes from Underground" the guy who is the subject of the book realizes he is an anti-hero, not the splendid person he thought he was. I too am in danger of becoming the anti-hero of my life. I guess how I live in the years I have left will determine that.
