There is the quote “Everyman should build a house, plant a tree and write a book”, although “having a son” is substituted in there. Up to last year, I had done three of the four, having raised five children, built our own house and planted lots of trees. I never had time to write and maybe I wasn’t ready. With the last of the children leaving the nest, I suddenly found time on my hands and a deep need to express myself. After a few initial starts, I poured myself into a novel, thinking when I was finished then I could put away my quill. Instead, I have an appetite to keep sharing what is within in me on paper. So here I am.
