Summary of this DVD... | ||
This is the hilarious first series about the lazy, but loveable Royle Family. There is Jim Royle, the head of the family, who rarely leaves his armchair. His wife, Barbara, who does cook and make cups of tea, and gets a part time job in a baker's. Denise and Anthony, the two children. Denise is a lazy, spoiled slob. Anthony is "put upon" and works his backside off, doing all household chores. Denise is engaged to Dave, who is a little lacking in the brains department. The series revolves around this family, who sit around watching TV all day and night. It doesn't sound that funny but, trust me, it's hilarious. My husband (who is American) loves this show, and it's not that often our British humour translates so well to him. This hits all the spots, though. | ||
This type of DVD is good for... | ||
Anyone who likes good comedy. It is British, so probably works better for Brits. But, as mentioned above, it's not exclusively British. | ||

Anthony. I feel so sorry for him. Also, I like the tenderness of between Denise and Jim when she's getting married. | ||
