Summary of this Book...
Esther’s husband and two children were killed in a car crash. Her sister Charlotte was in the car with them, but survived. Desperately trying to come to terms with this trauma, Esther becomes obsessed with watching the family across the road. The mother is cruel and unfeeling. Esther wants to report her for abusing her children. Only, things aren’t quite as they seem. Esther’s world slowly unravels in ways she never imagined. She has a lot to learn about her past and herself. The question is, ultimately, will she ever change? There really weren’t any surprises with this book. I called it from pretty near the beginning. Even he ending, which is supposed to be a shock, was fairly predictable. That said, I enjoyed reading it.
This type of Book is good for...

I especially liked... | ||
Esther’s character. She is, at turns, self-centred, fragile, hideous, vulnerable, sad, angry, and frightening.
I didn't like... | ||
The predictability. I would have loved to be taken by surprise with something.
I recommend this Book because...
It is enjoyable. It’s an easy read.
