This book was chosen by my college professor as the required textbook for a class on sports nutrition. This book is utterly useless for that setting. The text is made up of paragraphs the ate Pittsburg. The sentences have commas, semicolons, dashes, all-in-one and never end. The chapters are massive and include a lot of non-information that should be mentioned away from the relevant information. Instead of frequent quizzes that would help retaining smaller units of information, there is a battery of questions at the end of each chapter. Those are open ended questions and there is no answer key, so you will not know whether your answer is correct without re-reading the WHOLE chapter because the information is scattered instead of concentrated. The glossary at the end does include an alright amount of words, but not all that are needed. Worst: the glossary words to not give chapter or page numbers to look up more information. That means, if you look up a word in the glossary, you have to go back to the table of contents, find the chapter that most likely applies, then re-read the WHOLE chapter to find deeper information on one keyword. In short: there has to be a better way to do this. | ||
