Summary of this Book...
I really enjoyed this book. It's a fulfilling, slow-burn read—one of those books that sneaks up on you. Its pages are filled with love, forgiveness, healing, heartache, and compassion that's layered in depth but so gradual it's not overpowering, but satisfying. The main character, May Taylor, is a woman in her thirties. She's a wedding planner who has never been married, with a little girl, Kylie, who has an uncanny sixth sense. May meets Martin Cartier on a plane in a most unusual way. Martin is a pro hockey player with a wounded heart and complicated past. The little girl helps to bring them together with the help of her special gifts. Her visions started after coming across skeletal remains hanging from a tree. With these visions she innocently and gently helps to make things happen. Even though this story dabbles a bit in the mystical, it's done in such a way that it's more spiritual and healing than anything else. It adds to the story quite nicely. May is a strong-willed woman who is determined to make things right and help guide them all to be more whole, and help them heal past hurts. The story goes at a nice pace and keeps you happily turning the pages. It's a book about second chances and strong characters with a quiet strength. If this sounds like the kind of book you'd be interested in, I highly recommend it.
