This piece is very well-written, and entertaining. Being based off of a classic conflict of a dog against a cat, it is awfully easy to write a dull, ordinary piece with a predictable ending. However, the steady rhythm worthy of a chase scene and the excellent rhyming used here create a fun, engaging battle scene.
It would certainly be enjoyed by most children, being short and to the point, though I would recommend adding some sort of plot twist or hurdle for Charlie to encounter. Additionally, for a children's story I would suggest ending the chase in more of a tie as opposed to favoring the dog over the cat, however that always depends on your audience.
Again, excellent work on this captivating piece.
