About Me
I never tried dull, but quirky and whimsical suits me fine. What's the question? I explore possibilities and other random thoughts. Me? I drive too fast, pretend I'm retired (while working from home), and play drums in a "three-gigs-a-year" wedding band. I also enjoy cooking, and I'm a "buff" of movies. Not everything at once. If I'm not walking one of the forest trails nearby, you'll find me by the lake facing a breeze. Or perhaps behind a screen, perfecting other hobbies.
Type of Writer
I write for readers who don’t need everything explained. They appreciate implication, rhythm: stories that feel lived.
Writing Style
Lean, cinematic storyteller. Slice-of-life, dry wit, emotional punch. I write what lingers.
Interests
Drumming, people-watching, absurd moments, good movies, long walks with no destination, conversations that go sideways in the best way, strong coffee, quiet mornings, and noticing what most people miss.
Favorite Genres
Literary fiction, dark comedy, crime, memoir, legal thrillers, short stories, character-driven stuff, and the unclassifiable.
Favorite Books
The Rainmaker, Runaway, The Old Man and the Sea, Barfly, Just Kids, Me Talk Pretty One Day, If It Bleeds, Slouching Towards Bethlehem, Ham on Rye, The Year of Magical Thinking, Jesus’ Son, The Shining.
Favorite Authors
Grisham, Hemingway, Munro, Bukowski, Carver, Didion, Leonard, Sedaris, Patti Smith, Hunter Thompson. Writers who get to the point, cut through the bullshit, or leave something behind you didn’t know you were carrying.
Favorite Quote
"Less is more."
Favorite Music
I like all types... except disco. These days, I have Lofi Girl playing softly in the background while I write.😂
Favorite Movies
Too many to start listing. I watched over 100 last year alone. Last week, "The Life of Chuck" captured my attention. The Coen Brothers, Christopher Nolan, Noah Baumbach, Harold Ramis, Jim Jarmusch, and Richard Linklater always come up with winners.
Favorite Shows
I do binge, so I try not to get hooked — but then shows like The Bear, Better Call Saul, The Leftovers, Six Feet Under, and Breaking Bad come along and wreck that plan.
